Amy Crabill Lay is a Florida genealogist based in the Tampa Bay area. She is a certified Florida Pioneer Researcher and the past Chairperson for the Florida State Genealogical Society's Pioneer Descendant Certification Program.  A proud member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Tampa Chapter. Amy is not only a Florida genealogist but is active in genealogical research throughout the Midwestern and Southern United States.  Amy was honored in 2015 to be commissioned a Kentucky Colonel. Amy discovered her passion for genealogy while in her teens, when she began researching her own family's history.  

Amy's article, "The Successful Pioneer Application," was published in the December 2013 edition of the The Florida Genealogist.  Her lecture Florida Pioneers:  Conquistidors, Colonialists & Crackers was given through the Florida State Genealogical Society's webinar series, as well as the University of South Florida's OLLI program in 2013.  


Amy is co-host of the monthly genealogy podcast, Genealogy Happy Hour.

Amy holds a B.A. (Art History) from University of South Florida where she undertook graduate studies in Medieval European History. A graduate of ProGen Study Group 27, Amy has also received certificate of completion from the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) at Samford University and the Genealogical Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) at La Roche College.

She currently works as a full-time forensic genealogist with AGHS-American Global Heir Search and is not taking clients at this time.
